Two ways to buy cacti, succulents and other plants suitable for desert gardening

Note: Until further notice, the Greenhouse is not open to the public until the Covid-19 conditions are no longer a issue. Until that time, the Greenhouse is restricted to five club members at a time on Mondays and Thursdays from 6:00 am to 9:00 am.

If you have questions about this, please email them to davidwieg@aol.com.

1st Friday and 1st Saturday  of each month (except in the hot summer months)

The Desert Garden Club holds a plant sale on the first Friday and the first Saturday of the month except during the summer. We can only accept credit cards on the 1st Friday and 1st Saturday sales, but cash is always welcome. These sale times are 8:00 am to noon.

8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday

Desert Garden Club Greenhouse Chairperson Louise Pierce and Greenhouse Monitor Denise Wirz put the Greenhouse Open sign near the Beardsley Recreation Center parking lot. The public is welcome to purchase plants from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. Payment must be cash or checks only as we only accept credit cards at our 1st Friday and 1st Saturday sales.

The Desert Garden Club propagates a huge variety of plants to be sold to the public to support its various programs and projects.

These cacti, succulents, and other Arizona-suited plants can be purchased in two ways:

  1. There is a major sale on the first Friday and the first Saturday of each month from September through June (except in November when it is part of the Sun City West Art and Craft Sale held on the first Saturday in November). These sales run from 8:00 am to noon at the Beardsley Recreation Center Greenhouse (except the November sale is at the R.H. Johnson Recreation Center).
  2. Additionally, plants may be purchased Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. We have club members at the Beardsley Recreation Center Greenhouse at those times to sell, pot, water, and care for the plants.
